The Zurich-based Syz family, which owns the private bank Maerki Baumann & Co. AG, is renowned for its long-term outlook and entrepreneurial approach. Maerki Baumann & Co. AG is currently in the hands of the second generation of the family. The siblings Hans G. Syz-Witmer and Dr iur. Carole Schmied-Syz act as Chair and Vice-Chair of the Board of Directors respectively. Together they own about 95% of the shares. From an operating perspective, the bank is managed by the Executive Board under the stewardship of Dr Stephan A. Zwahlen.
