No to hypes!

There are days when certain investment products such as equities break out to new heights. Sometimes it is difficult as an investor to find out why:

A media release issued by the company announcing an innovative product? The publication of very good annual figures that exceed the analysts’ expectations?

Alternatively – like happened in January 2021 – collusion among investors, whose purchases made the share price shoot up.

Our Investment Manager, Philippe Hungerbühler, explains to you, clearly and concisely, what happens when such collusion happens, and the challenges they present for investors. He also explains how Maerki Baumann reacts in the face of such volatile short-term trends. (video only available in German.)

“Do have the courage to say no to volatile short-term trends. Invest for the long term and in keeping with our guiding principle “security over return”.”
